Thanks for the report. I run XP media edition w/SP2 and have avoided letting the computer update itself as everything "works" at the moment but might go ahead and update now.

I should exopand a bit here. I've been running Windows XP Media Center 2002 service pack 2. Did a little search and found out that it's been a prickly thorn for quite a few. Who would have known.

I've been running Sonar HS4 xl on my system for quiet awhile now, set for 16bit at 44.1khz asio drivers at 6ms latency. Usually when I have Guitar Rig 2 as a plugin my cpu meter will hover around the 40% and peak into the 50% range regularly. I recently purchase Reason 3.0 and figured there was not a hope in heck that my setup would be suffice to handle Reason in rewire and add some of my processor plugins. Sure enough cpu spikes pops and clicks evn after tweaking through msconfig. Even with just Reason in rewire I would get 40% and the same pops and clicks.

Anyway to make a long story a bit shorter, two automatic updates appeared on my screen today one an xp update, the other a java update. I downloaded them.

Now I've set Sonar 4xl for 24bit 44.1khz, I've rewired Reason set it for high resolution samples and am monitoring with Guitar Rig with no pops and clicks and the CPU meter staying in a constant range of about 21%

Anyway I'm really happy and wanted to see if you have had similar experiences.
