runtime error (not using v-vocal)

Can't find the other thread about this apart from the one with v-vocal and this error.

I'm working with sonar 8.5 with a big band set up...not using too much CPU or disc space. After about an hour the message 'Microsoft visual C++++ runtime error' comes up and sonar closes down. as the title states I'm not using v-vocal (where I believe this problem has been addressed)

Any help please, this is driving me crazy!

is this a new project?  does it do it with other older projects?  other new projects?  do you have any FX in the bins?  which ones?  how about softsynths?  which ones?

have you used the saffire pro on this machine with this version of sonar before without issues?

Never happened on Sonar 8. I upgraded to 8.5 for this project. Didn't start happening until yesterday...up til that point everything seemed fine. Didn't change any soft synths which are for this project: Garitan jazz and big band, Kontact player 2 and Play. there are no FX at all. I'm just working with midi at this point.

The saffire pro 40 is very, very stable. Had no issues at all before this runtime error started.

Have you upgraded to 8.5.3?

This addressed a number of problems.

Try loading up a few older projects an report back what happens.
If they load ok then it's possible your current project has become corrupt in some way.

Yes I was looking at the updates. Can I just update to 8.5.3 or do I have to go through the updates in order...I'm on 8.5.0.141?
