save midi pattern?

How do I save a midi pattern so I can add it to the media browser bank and use it in other projects?

the midi pattern I want to save is already in a project as a midi track.

I think it's  .ptn file I am looking to save it as.
Not sure how to save it?

File > Export > MIDI Groove Clip if it's a groove clip.

    Or

Drag the clip outside of SONAR onto the Windows Desktop or into Windows Explorer.

...or you can drag the clip into Windows Explorer directly from X1. Name it first and it will retain that name.

Wait a second...Cakewalk hasn't made it possible to drag and drop a clip directly into to Browser?  Do we have to wait for another unlikely patch or the next release?

    One way ticket, yeah.

    Kind regards,

    Many thanks,
the dragging into windows worked fine.

It saved it as a midi file but I guess this is just as good as a .ptn.

I suppose ptn is only for cakewalk but a midi file is universal.

    Anyway thanks for the help.

That would be nice. I would think that would be a future enhancement though, not something for a patch, unless they do an X1.5 version.
