select just part of a clip

select just part of a clip

Hi,

I'm not at my music machine right now, so pardon me if this is an obvious one. Last night I tried to select part of an audio clip to copy to another track. This used to be alt + drag over the portion you want to select. Of course now in X1 - alt turns on the splitter (handy, but not what I was trying to do). I got around it by splitting and dragging the split part of the clip - but can you still select just a part of an audio clip?

    use the smart Tool in the upper half of the clip select the section , when its highlighted click hold and drag that section to your destination.

    Ahh thanks a lot for that!

    I couldn't be bothered last night (I just wanted to copy the part - not have a whole RTFM session) - bu t I'll remember this now.
