selecting in PRV

I'm working in PRV and I need to see about 12 tracks I'm working on.
I select one of the tracks and it highlights it...great, now I need to edit a few of those notes on that track so I lasso them but it selects everything around those notes too.
Dam please tell me I have to deselect all the tracks in the track pane except for the one I'm working on?!
I haven't needed to do this often but when there's a bunch clustered together it's been a real pain.
Thanks very much,
Randy

There is a Registry setting you can make to override that annoying lasso behavior.

    See http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=2273367&mpage=1#2274150

And I believe it's described in the X1 manual on Page 670.

Make sure the Track pane is open to the right (PRV Menu-->Views-->Show/Hide Track Pane)

In the PRV track pane to the left of each track name just above the MSR indicators are two coloured squares, the left one is to show/hide the track the one on the right will disable edting. Click on that one - you'll still see the notes on the tracks but won't be able to edit or select them unless you turn that back on.

@ Tom, that thread seems to be about lassoing outside of the area one is trying to lasso. That's not the case for me...I just don't want to lasso other tracks (within the lasso) that are not selected/highlighted

@ FBB, what I've been doing was to deselect the left colored pane (so it just goes away)...I guess what you do is disable all for editing and then enable one at a time as needed yeah?
I'll start trying that instead as a workaround...thanks guys!

That's one way. I also have a screenset that allows an alternative method of selecting and working with PRV tracks that may or may not be useful. That's HERE

I saw that some time back (I'm subscribed to your channel)and I've been meaning to take the time to set it up...I will do that right now but I have a quick question; how the heck do you delete an existing screenset or better yet overwrite it?
    Thanks very much Karl!

Just make sure it isn't locked (no padlock showing against it's name in the SS menu) and change it how you want it.

To copy one to another slot press Ctrl + the number slot you want. The destination screenset will be overwritten unless it is locked though so make sure that's what you want.

Well hell, I've already hit my 1st snag following your video...whenever I resize the CV and try to put it into the video area it turns blue (the new Windows thing that tabs them)
Do I turn that off somewhere 1st?
    Thanks again bud,
    Randy

Hold down the ctrl key when you get near the multidock hotspot, that'll stop it.
