selecting/changing controllers in piano view? (X2)

Disclaimer: I'm coming in to X2 after many years of 8.3:-) So I'm in piano view and trying to move/adjust/anything the wheel controllers. Instructions are here: http://www.cakewalk.com/D...ngMIDI.23.html#1083467 I can't do a darn thing to them and at the moment have 4 blue (selection?) boxes on my screen of various shapes and sizes, all in the controller display area. Quite comical looking really. Basic stuff but I can't figure it out. Help! -rich

Is it possible that you're stuck using the Select Tool (which only selects; wont "edit")? Try hitting F5 to enable the Smart Tool.  Then you should be able to select them with right-click lasso, move them by grabbing a node, draw with left-click drag, etc.

Boy, I did get it to work....once. I can draw X number of selection boxes, some even overlapping the others visually. Non-contiguous too. Am I suppose to be able to do that? Then I can't seem to un-select them, expect for exiting piano scroll and going back in. It also changes visually what is underneath the transparent blue boxes (had a controller visually ramping up, after box on top they visually ramp down). Weird stuff. -rich

Hmm... This isn't something I can make happen here.  Are there any more details you can share? Maybe you can share the project, or a screenshot?

Please fill out a problem report.  In it, please link to this thread and add "ATTN: Bill Jackson."  After you submit, you'll be able to upload a file.  If you could attach the project & screenshot, I'll take a look and maybe we can get to the bottom of it.

Bill, thanks for your help. My project is way big, symphonic piece over 100 tracks plus Garitan synths and a slew of highend VST effects. I tried removing Altiverb 6, freezing synths, still the problem persists. SONARPDR image is between 1.7-2G within my Sonar 32bit X2, and that can't be good :-) Of course when I isolate the troublesome track to a new file the problem does not happen. I have a screenshot you might find amusing, but I don't think you'd be able to recreate my environment. I'm only running into trouble while attempting to edit controllers in piano roll (so far), so maybe I'll come up with a workaround. -rich
