setting export start/end points

I've looked for this in the Power! book I have (I'm running Sonar 8.31), and suspect there's probably a very easy/obvious solution I'm not seeing.

Let's say that come mix-down time, I want to omit the first 6 measures. Is there a way of setting Sonar to only mix the audio down from a specified start to a specified end point?

Much obliged for any input.

    Two ways I know of:

    1) Hold down the ALT key and select the measures you want with the mouse.

    2) Use Set From and Set Through to set the start and end points.

Thanks Dave - I'll try both (or at least, try to try both!)

Look forward to skipping the 10 seconds of silence at the start of each song.

Another way is to insert Start & End markers in your project.

Then, open the Markers view and select/drag across both markers and  you should end up with just the section between the 2 markers selected.

Almost. You create a start and end marker, but then in the markers view only select up to the end marker, don't include the end marker. If you select the end marker it will select all the stuff after it. Of course, if you don't have anything after the end marker then that's not an issue. But oftentimes stray events happen out in the hinterlands, so I've gotten into the habit of NOT selecting my "end" marker.

I always select all (ctrl-A... or is that alt-A... darned, can't check right now, and I always do it without thinking about it) and then click on the ruler while holding alt (or is it ctrl... darned, still can't check it now) to set the beginning (everything from start up to where I click is deselected) and also to se the end (although I usually make sure I have to data beyond the end and I always turn down the volume on the master, so whenever I select all, the ending is already where I want it to be).

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

There is also a Selection toolbar in which you set the start and end points either by clicking on them or by typing in the values.

For whatever reason I'm not getting the 'clicking in the ruler as selecting..?
Set markers, select anything in the middle, ctrlA (select everything), marker arrow or F2 'previous to the start marker, F9 sets it, arrow or F3 to end marker, F10 sets end point.
