A short recipe for all keyboard synths:
1. Connect MIDI I/O (DIN or USB, but not both) from your keyboard to your DAW, and Audio output(s) to input(s) on your audio interface.
2. Disable Local Control in the keyboard setup, and put the keyboard in Multi-timbral mode.
3. Go to Preferences > MIDI > Devices, and make sure the MIDI ports are enabled, and give them "friendly" names the keyboard if desired.
4. Go to Preferences > MIDI > Instruments, click Define, Add/Import an Instrument Definition for your synth, and assign the friendly-named output port and channels to it.
5. Create a MIDI track in the project and set its I/O to the keyboard ports.
6. Set a forced MIDI Output channel, and choose a Patch (optional).
7. Confirm Always Echo Current MIDI Track is enabled in Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording or click the Input Echo button on the track so it's always echoing whether it has focus or not.
8. Insert an Audio track, and set the Input to whatever input the synth is connectied to on your audio interface.
9. IMPORTANT: Enable the Input Echo button on the Audio track so you can hear its output echoed to your monitoring system via SONAR and your interface.
10. Play your keyboard, and verify you have activity in both the MIDI and Audio meters, and you can hear audio.
That should get you started.
