This song appeals to  my intellect, but I'm not getting an emotional connection.  The vocal is technically correct in regard to pitch and phrasing, but it's a bit cold and not quite convincing.  Perhaps if you dial back the reverb a bit it would sit better in the mix and tell the story.  The volume level is way above the acoustic guitar, so I'm not hearing a balance there.  As for the panning, it's there but narrow to my ears.  Spreading the instruments might help.  The lyrics are quite good, on the other hand, so it's worth playing with this to get it right.  Opinions may vary, but that's how I hear it on the first two listens.  The ending is rather awkward and exposes a great deal of hiss, so you may be over compressed.  Good luck with this because there's something there.

    All the best,
    Lynn
