simply setting up a bus

this is really frustrating.  Can't set up a bus.  real simple highlight tracks drag to bus.  Nothing.  try to set up folder and add tracks by drop and drag.  Nothing.  Ok, what is wrong here?

Change the output of the track to the bus.

real simple highlight tracks drag to bus.

What? I just can't wrap my head around this statement.
You can route the track output to a bus, as Greg suggested, or you can insert a send in your audio track, which offers a second route to a bus, but you cannot put the audio data in a bus.
A bus is a throughput device, not a source.
Perhaps you have used software that creates the routing behind the scenes when you drag a track to a bus? I am not familiar with such behavior, but maybe it's possible.
Sonar offers flexible, but specific, routing options. It's about signal path.
Please clarify what you are attempting to do o we can help you.

Any busses you want in Sonar you have to create yourself.

I find the best place to do this is in Console view, jut right click in the Busses section and select "Insert Stereo Bus" (or something like that)

Same with Folders, you have to create your own - this can only be done in Track View

Select a bunch of tracks, right click and choose "Move To Folder" - you'll be prompted with a list of existing folders and also "New Folder"

routing output, I will do this.  I feel I must apologize for every dumb question I ask.  I always feel under pressure to get something done quick so that I can get back to responsibilities!  However, I am just making advertising spots.  I will put some stuff out there for everyone to hear soon.  I can do this. Thats the great thing about this forum, NO question is dumb.  Everyone is willing to help regardless of the complexity of the question.

I will even go as far as phone calls or make a fast video on how to do something

Good luck, look forward to hearing some of your work
