slate - freebie dynamic processor

slate digital - monster dynamics processor

The Monster emulates the classic "all buttons in" extreme compression sound of the vintage FET limiter hardware. The "all buttons in" effect can be pretty extreme, so we added a few very cool additional features that make this processor more versatile, more creative, and more useful.

Got my code and activated iLok, only to get another Virtual Mix Rack reference on top of the one I already had. No hint of any Monster as far as iLok is concerned.

Yeah..they don't tell you that, it being free, and that it REQUIRES
the VMR to run, that the VMR is what the Serial # is for...

I just installed it and it worked...LOL

Still funny to see two VMR references in the iLok Manager: one with Revival and other rack stuff, and now a new one with Monster (I presume).

Just read in a Gearslutz forum that you don't need to register @ iLok if you already have VMR. It'll just come with the new download. So now I have two VMRs in my iLok Manager. Makes no sense.

I downloaded the new Monster and didn't visit iLok and  it was there and working and it's pretty cool!

So, yes if you have VMR already, no need to go to iLok.

Yes... Weird that Slate sends you a new iLok redemption code that you don't actually need.

My new auth code wasn't accepted (I assumed because I already have VMR registered) - and it just works for monster - so I'd say just download the new VMR and tick the box to install Monster.

Fleer - maybe your "double" VMR registration will clear up when the ilok servers are fixed?

True, didn't think of that. But as Yorolpal said, I received a second registration code from within my Slate account, so not only iLok related.

Yep - it should work fine with the newest vmr download.

That's all I did.. just install latest download in my account and no need to visit iLok.

I do own the original VMR bundle with fg116, fg401 and the neve and ssl eqs.

Due to the iLok servers going down during and activation process I had to do a full manual vst scan in SPLAT.  In fact I had to do two as the first one crashed.  Both times the VMR popped up a missing ESR error file dialog.  But it still works fine. Go figure.

Trimmer has been there for a while now - it's another freebie. It comes from when everyone was moaning about the vmr modules not having good meters.
