Love the guitars (all of them) and the singing. The bass and drums are good too. I don't care for the keys - probably just the patch or instrument. What is it? It doesn't quite sound like a live / real piano, not even an upright. Sounds almost like xylophone or something.

Nice kick drum. Nice mix and production. Great job!

    Thanks,

thanks randy, for listening and the kind words. the keys are real, [yamaha synth set to honky tonk piano]. possibly it's the velocity at which i'm hitting the keys, that cause them to sound less than real to you. i will look into what i can do to fix this or possibly recut the piano track again. thanks for the feedback, bill

Hey Billy B, I dig your singing but I also think the piano sound isn't quite right and it sounds a little too up front. Maybe moving it back in the mix a bit would help. Good work.

For what it's worth, I wanted to add that this last weekend I saw John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers in concert (Mesa, Arizona). John used a Yamaha synth, and on one song they did he used a patch that sounded almost (if not exactly) like this song. As guitarplayingmann suggested, the keys were quite down in the live mix. I still wasn't thrilled with the sound, and liked some of his other patch selections better.

Great concert, by the way! Robben Ford and Eric Bibb were also in the line up.

    Thanks,
