snap to grid

i am having a problem with the snap to grid , no matter what i do when i try move my loop brackets or put a loop in a track it always is off the marker ! i have tried everything and also with all the new stuff to the GUi which i like not ****ing the one useful thing that i loved is the track position numbers at the bottom of the recording area are gone now and i don't see how to get them back . if someone can help me please do
