snap-to-grid while dragging objects?

Well, just switched over to Bandlab over the weekend after 30+ years of Cakewalk/Sonar.

Have to say it's pretty remarkable how similar it is and how smooth the transition went.  It's just like Sonar, bugs and all!

(Off topic, the things that still get me the most is how Sonar messed up the whole color system, and removed the auto-crossfade on/off indicator, and never fixed either.)

There's one new behavior that's hurting me though...  in Platinum while dragging an object you could toggle snap-to-grid on and off.  I used this constantly.  No longer works.  Is this just a bug?  Seems odd it would behave differently when everything else is so much the same.

You can toggle snap to grid on/off by pressing "N".

Yes. And I'd like to be able to do it while dragging an object, like I did in Sonar Platinum...?

Interesting.  So, I had re-mapped snap-to-grid to "J" instead of "N".  After Cakewalk closed shop I bought and installed Cubase as a replacement, so I've been trying to combine key commands as much as possible to make the transition easier.  Anyway, in Cubase "J" is snap-to-grid.

I put the key binding back to "N" and now it works as it's supposed to.  I wouldn't have thought it would have made a difference which key?

Gosh, has it really been 30 years already? Maybe it's just because tomorrow's my birthday, but you are making me feel old.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I believe "J" is binded to Scrub.
you may have to unbind it first and/or find a new home for it.
All I know is "N" works here in CbB very well.

Seems to be a minor bug.  "J" works just fine as a key-binding for snap-to-grid.  Unless you are dragging an object.  Then, "N" still toggles snap-to-grid on/off and "J" does nothing.  Even though in key bindings I had set "N" to "do nothing" it still defaults to snap-to-grid on/off while dragging an object.

I had a similar issue once regarding Custom made Shortcuts so im not surprised really.
Sometimes you may have to reboot your PC to clear memory. I know that sounds a little strange but I believe that's what fixed my issue.

My issue was when I bound  / to REW and - to FF.
In preferences it looked fine but it wasn't working until I rebooted.
