so you think rap has no place with classic rock??

ninny in the hoop is a combo of rap and classic rock,i swore after i wrote this song that someday it would be huge hit..now i just think its a good song...lol..please let me know how to make this more powerful in the mix.sounds to compressed to me.

    I think one of the best ways of comming up with new ideas is to combine things you already know.

    Cool song! I like the sound of the guitar!

    I know it's not arrangement tips you want but here are some of my thought anyway:

    I think it's a bit repetitive..

    Maybe try some "thugga-thugga"-heavy-rhythm-guitar stuff in 8th notes and a fat string section on the refrain to spice it up a bit and separate it from the rest of the song?

    And maybe varie the drums some more too?
    Some double bassdrum and nice ..kind of like percussion patterns on the toms?

    Just some suggestions.

    I don't know if you've heard the group Clawfinger?
    They've been mixing rock and rap since 1988.. Maybe they can be of some inspiration to get this song where you want it :)

    Whoa....One powerful guitar there, and very tight with the bass.  Could be a sound track here!  I did think that relative to the guitars the drums sounded kind of wimpy.  Personally I would let the guitar work, as good as they are, give the drums a little more room.  Good job

    Sure!  Why not?  The main voice is coming from the left.  Usually it is in the middle unless that is what you intended to be.  Sounds like a fun track.

    Way cool stuff, Charlie, and a real nice job on the production.  Personally, I'm a huge fan of mixed genre stuff. 

    I think Loptec made some really good points on the construction and arrangement of the tune and I would second most of his comments on that score.  It depends on where you want to go with it.  Right now it's a fun tune and a great listen, IMO.  Some experimentation, and who knows what may lurk in the heart of Ninny
