soft synth default to channel 1

hey all

so all my soft synths, when i insert them from the synth rack, they're ready to play. EXCEPT omnisphere, which defaults to no channel being selected on its track. i just have to then take the extra step to manually select channel 1 for it and then i'm good to go, but is there any way to (i'm sure there is... i just can't find it...) set it to always start on channel 1? weird thing is it didn't always do this, it changed like a month ago and only for this synth...

anyway, help would be greatly appreciated as it would save me many seconds per day :-)

i'm on sonar 8.5.3 by the way

Yeh, more than once I've sat there wondering why Omnisphere wasn't making any noise, before realizing I'd not yet set the track's MIDI channel to 1.

If you use Omnisphere a lot, maybe you could create a project template that includes it, along with a default MIDI track already routed to it on channel 1.

I did this with Superior Drummer, since I found myself going through the same motions every time I'd put it into a project. So I just set it up the way I like it and saved that as a project template.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

ugh. yea thanks for the response but that sounds like a pain in the butt. especially since i'm constantly going back to existing projects and adding omnisphere tracks, and who knows how many instances of omnisphere i'm going to add to any given new project...

so weird though because it used to automatically set channel 1. there's gotta be a way to change it :-(
