that's in Hovenweep. Hovenweep National Monument protects six prehistoric, Puebloan-era villages spread over a twenty-mile expanse of mesa tops and canyons along the Utah-Colorado border.

Man, I love that part of the country. You are so right, Batsbrew, you just can't catch it. it's so...big. Nonetheless, we try. I'm diiging your pix. This is a drawing of a cliff in Colorado National Munument(same rock formations, hundreds of miles away) I've been all over the world, but I love the west. There's no place like it.

Chaco Canyon around my stompin' grounds. No place like it. Just posting for those that may never have heard about it. New Mexico seems to be good at keeping low...must be because of all the government owned land...not to mention reservations.

Just had to chime in. I live at the base of the Colorado National Monument. Actually took my SG up there for pics (see avatar pic). Best place in the world to live IMO! Canyonlands and Arches national park are just a few hours from me. Just a couple weeks left for desert season :( pretty soon it will be 100 degrees everyday until fall.

we drove thru blanding, on our way back from hovenweep, to the Needles. that's pretty much out in the boonies, eh? but so close to all that incredible desert action. the new mexico and colorado shots are beautiful as well. folks, that have never been to the desert: you're really missing something special. and it's one of those things were, you have to go and get your hands dirty. but stay off the Crypto!!! LOL
