some problems

hello,
 
1. when i reccord a new project, can  i combine 2 diferent tempo of the drums loops at the same song?
2. when i need to  unplug the v studio 20 need to close the cover of my lap and then to unplug the USB connect.  after i open up back  the cover my lap dose not wake up.  the problem is not because of the laptop (i have checked it).  can i have help with this problem.
