I suppose it's tougher to comment on an "atmosphere" rather than a song, but I can envision a use for this with fast changing imagery from Tibetan markets, vendors trying to hock their wares to tourist passer-bys. It has a little bit of a frantic feeling to it - so probably not suitable for sun-downs or quiet moments. Not bad, but without the imagery it loses some of the perspective (kind of like reviewing a coffee - but only being supplied the cream).

    Nice nprime,

I especially like the accents on the percussion/cymbal (what is that BTW?).

I was waiting for a wall of sound to come in, but it never happened. This is a cool song to play guitar and improvise.

    Rod,
Interesting piece. I enjoyed the suspended atmospherics and the percussion. I had some reservations about the staccato double reed like sound, I could hear that playing a more legato line, or perhaps a softer sound for the staccato.

    Nice mood piece.

    Thanks guys!

It is indeed all about the mood, and it is crying for an accompanying visual.

The percussion device is the round metal lid off a laundry hamper played with one of those drum sticks that looks like someone bound together a bunch of little bamboo skewers. I miked it with my AKG C141B-ULS, and had a lot of fun playing with the effects i could achieve by moving it closer and further and hitting it in different places.

The double reed like sound was the best thing I could find in that range of sound on the instruments available to me. The idea is that it is playing this nice lyrical line without all the percussion and drama before we get to this "scene" where things are to become a bit more frantic. The wall of sound comes next...haven't written it yet.

Elektroniqa...I think it would be more like having to judge the taste by only bing allowed to smell the coffee...LOL!

I thought it would be nice to hear something other than another pop tune, just for a change.

Really good work! I found two things in the piece: Some suspense in the begiining. But the suspense went away and teh vison became one of story telling.
