sonar x1....not responding crash,then cannot "see" my interface

Hey everyone.I need some help.I have sonar x1 producer expanded.I run it on a 64 bit windows 7 system on an HP dv6 qhad coew pprocessing pavillion notebook with 8 GB of RAM.I use the cakewalk ua-25ex(not the edirol one)I have been having problems with dropout continuously and have tried increasing and decreasing the samples.Oh yea I am using asio driver,the latest one downloaded from the roland website.Right now I have it set at 6 which is 288 samples but if there are pops and clicks I have increased it to 8 -864 samples.The buffer is at 2.

Almost ev ery time I open a song in sonar it says "not responding" and then eventually loads.When I close a number of songs the same thing happens and then sonar crashes.I open it back up and sonar acts like my ua-25ex is not plugged in(reason 6 nor ableton 8 will see it at that point either)So I have to restart my computer then it shows  back up.But many times it happens every time I shut down sonar.

Now before anmyone gets pissed at my stupidity or anything,I realize with a windows setup there tons of factors but Im stuck here.Is there anyone who has had a similar problem?Any ideas on what I could do?

    Are you recording at 24bit, 44.1KHz?

    Are you recording at 24bit, 44.1KHz? 

    Hey daveeny yes 44.1 on back of interface and 24 bit recording.It actually happened tonite about 4 or 5 times and I lost what I was doing.Any ideas?Thanks for helping

    This will probably solve any of your problems. I will not go deep into technically why it works it just does.
     
    If you haven’t already made a metronome-bus make a new bus and call it metronome. Route the Metronome output to that Bus so you can control the audio click playing back by SONAR X1.
     
    Now, activate MIDI Click “metronome” ON for both Playback and recording.
    Never ever cancel the metronome click, have metronome “click” on always for both Playback and Recording. If you don’t need or want to hear it, lower the fader in the “metronome Bus” to zero.
     
    Go to Audio menu in Preference.
    Make sure you have un-mark “open all devices” off. Have it active will make SONAR X1 crash under some circumstances with complex projects.
     
     
    This will probably solve any of your problems…if it still not and it still continue to crash. Try to disable all FXs and see if still crash? If so then it’s a VST that crashing not SONAR X1. It can also be sync problem in your setup. Make sure SONAR is the Master and your Audio-card is the MASTER reference sync clock. I would use 48kHz 32bit floating for tracking and working in SONAR or any other DAW. 44.1 kHz 24bit work fine too. You should consider change and use 48 kHz instead, it will make everything sounds better and the end result too, the CD 44.kHz 16bit.

    Hey thanks,I did most of the changes but where and how do I check the mster sync thing with sonar and my interface?Also how do I know which plugin is bad and if it is causing the problem what do I do?Thanks so much!
