sonar x3 won't open when i click the icon

hello,
can anyone tell me why sonar won't open when I click the icon.
when I start up my computer it opens fine but after i close it then try to start up sonar later, nothing happens when i click the icon.

    It is probably still running waiting on the audio interface. Check the windows process list.

    thanks for the reply scook,
    I had a look in to that a few days ago and nothing was running and the task manager showed nothing at all so i dont understand why it can't start up again :/

    This usually happens when the audio driver does not release itself (Could a reverb still be making sound even after stopping the project?).  What are you using for an audio interface and what driver mode are you using?

    Also when looking Task Manager be sure not to just look at the applications page. Sometimes a process doesn't show there but will show on the processes tab.

    I need to ask...Does it EVER start using the icon? Your question could be read that you have Sonar set up so it starts automatically when you boot your computer...a "Startup" application. If this is the case, it might be that the icon is not linked to the application. Will it start from the folder executable? For instance if I were to double-click:
    SONARPDR.exe, which for me is located:
    "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\SONARPDR.exe"
     
    If so, then you can re-link the icon to the correct path, or create a new shortcut to the path.
