sound cards

So, after reading many forums I've come to the conclusion that a RealTek sound card just doesn't do it for Music Creator 5.  So can someone tell me:  what is the most compatible sound card I can get for MC5?

How much you want to spend?

Good ones range from the M-Audio transit ($79) to however much you want to drain your bank account.  Compatibility is pretty much a given.  Just be sure to buy from a company that will let you return a card for another in case it doesn't work right out of the box.  Sometimes a specific card doesn't like your specific system.  most of the similiarly priced cards have similiar features and sound.

But if compatibility is the most important feature for you, I'd suggest a Cakewalk one.  At least you are dealing w/ one company for soft and hardware.

The Edirol USB or FW boxes are pretty good and generally solid with Sonar.
