split tool line issues

split tool line issues

Hi, when wanting to split a clip at the start of a note the clip line refuses to go where I need it to i.e. at the beginning of the note seeming to chose its own place almost entirely away from the desired location as if moving to preordained setting. If I move the line which shows up with a magnifying glass at the top of the page it flicks back to where it started. I'm guessing I have some set up issue but am unable to see anything referring to this on cakewalk support. I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

    Turn OFF the SNAP-TO feature.  Snap-to automatically moves things around so things align with the grid.
