excellent ones for cash. for B3 sounds, NI's B4 organ plugin. The best hands down!

I will also add my vote for the B4 virtual Hammond organ.. I am a hammond organ player, and I must say the B4 sounds terrific in the mix... however if you're looking for a cheaper solution, or looking for sounds that you can use on different sampling syths, I have the Sweetwater B3 CD (I forget the name of it off hand)... The B3 sounds are quite good, sampled with various different drawbar configurations, and with/withoug Chorus/Vibrato/Percussion.. I was going to put the CD on ebay shortly, but you can have it for $20, it's in perfect condition... just contact me off list. Craig ccmacdon@rogers.com

Do a google for "pedalsteel.exe"--it's a soundfont that's out there floating around. For pedal steel loops, get "Nashville Wire"... Jerry

For real pedal steel, contact David Spires, who frequents this forum under the moniker "the doghouse." He is one of best in Nashville.

I'm gonna weigh in for OrganizedTrio, also - as a freebie (or donationee?) it's amazing. That said - if ya got a budget, B4 is definately tops. I carted around a Hammond for years, and B4 is so on it you can get splinters from the case! Take note, tho - neither of the above are samples, they are real time emulators of the real thing. I've never seen (heard) a sampled B that cuts it for me - it's just too expressive an instrument to reduce to a single recording. I'd say the same for pedal steel - but I honestly haven't checked much out in that area lately.... If ya go for sampled B, I hope you have a foot-controllable tube preamp lying around - and a real leslie...

I just updated my B4 to version 1.15 and the need to periodically reinsert the CD for authorization has been eliminated. What a relief.

If you have Dimension Pro it has some usable and very tweakable hammond samples - see this post http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2877651 NI's B4 is no longer available so unless you are extremely lucky to find a copy second hand, remembering the licence has to be transferred by NI to your account from that of the previous owner, something that you would need to fully check out before parting with any cash. GSI's free Organized Trio has been mentioned, its good but there is also the full version VB3 which many will argue is better than NI's B4. http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=24 NI replaced B4 with Vintage Organs, a Kontakt instrument. You still retain complete control of drawbars, leslie speaker etc, but the hammonds are arguably not quite as good as the old B4, however there are also some very nice transistor organs in the package. If you have Dimension Pro it has some usable and very tweakable hammond samples - see this thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2877651 Orange Tree samples do a very nice lap steel guitar and an acoustic slide guitar, but they need the full version of Kontakt to run. http://www.orangetreesamples.com/lap-steel-guitar
