step recording with home studio 7

hello there im doing some step recording with hs7 ..
lets say that on measure 4  you record  a drum bass for 4 beats ...how do you add some other drum kit lets say on measure 9 trough 17 on the same track?do have to expand the step quantize window? or there is a quicker way??

    Do you mean step recording? I've never heard of step quantizing and I don't understand what it could be.

    I'm almost sure you can not change kit on the fly with any drum software, but I'm not 100% sure. That would require automating the kit change and I doubt if it's possible.
