stereo widener

I know in Sonar X1 it had a stereo widener with Channel Tools.   But Channel Tools isn't in X3.  Where is a stereo widener in X3?

    Channel tools appears in my installation of X3, so not sure why you're not seeing it, but anyway, in the FX menu look under "Spatial" and you have BT Stereo widener

    Yes, Channel Tools is bundled with X3 Studio and Producer http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X3&language=3&help=Plug-ins.2.html#1765708

    To see the "Spatial" category requires setting the plug-in layout to "X3 Producer Effects." Using the "Default - All Plug-ins" layout, "Channel Tools" should be at the top level and the "BT Stereo Imager" is in the "Nomad Factory" folder in the plug-in browser.

    And there's the Nomad Factory Blue Tube Stereo Imager Model ST-2S included from Studio Edition. (Channel Tools is from Studio Edition too).

    And Sonitus Phase. I can't remember if Sonitus. Plugs come with X3 or not but I believe they do. Anyway, that plug is a good imager.

    I've got Channel Tools. (X3S)
    A few of the synths don't load for me in 64x, though.

    There are a couple of older 32bit DirectX synths which do not install by default because 32bit DirectX plug-ins do not work in 64bit SONAR. The only 64bit synth I know of which requires special handling is Pentagon I. SONAR must be run as administrator or the permissions for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\rgc:audio software\DXi\Pentagon I need to be changed so Users have full access to the key. But this is a topic for another thread.

    I'm only using it on a single instrument track to help the stereo effect a bit.

    Thanks!

    Does Channel Tools widen? Apart from being able to set up a Haas delay that is.

    If you're looking to enhance the stereo effect of an instrument and create some ambience then I would heartily recommend the free SHEPPi spacial enhancer plugin, based on Bob Katz's K-Stereo technique;

    It works wonders without screwing up your mix
