still at it

see here it is-- dowloaded some mp-3 files onto mc thru file>import>audio......watch them audio stream load onto my track and live there but when it comes to actually getting them to play... move accross the screen,,,,, nothing -nada---- zip---
I have been able to play every demo --every tutorial--every sample drum clip--even recorded and played midi --but these files i cannot get to physically move when i hit the play button ? where am i going wrong--and even if i did get them to play --do i have the capability to edit/mix what i have prerecorded and downloaded from my windows media file ----are these files incorrectly formatted ???? any help would be appreciated !!

    that was going to be my next question. where are you getting these files from? can you play them in windows media? you want to send one to me and let me try to play it?

    these files live in my windows media and than are imported to mc -- yes they are definitely playable in that format

    If the program will not play the MP3, yet they load and show up in the tracks i suspect that the audio is not setup right

    how is it that i am able to play all the demo`s and drum patches and not something i`ve imported from windows media player-- it`s not even a sound issue -the files download but they don`t open ---any help wpild be appreciated--real novice at this

    Find the folder that holds the downloads and right click them and read there properties, it might be that they are in some wierd format that only WMP can read, they may need to be converted to a loadable format. I do not know if you are interested, but if you e-mail them to me i will try and open them and if there is a problem try to convert them

    it works for me both in winamp and in MC3 so it must be an audio setup issue
