strange behavior importing old project- please help

strange behavior importing old project- please help

when i import an old project from Guitar Tracks Pro to sonar, some of the tracks show up as midi tracks when it was all done in audio. I tried to open Guitar Tracks Pro & it suddenly no longer works - no sound, no mix panel, & it crashes before i can check audio options... Any ideas? thank you!!

    How old projects are we talking about?
    Audio tracks opening as MIDI sounds really strange.
    Obviously you have a 64 bit system now (8 gb RAM)? Are the projects from a 32 bit system using DX effects, which 64 bit system doesn't support, or 32 bit VSTs which would require BitBridge?
     
    Is the Guitar Pro 32 or 64 bits?
     
    Have you tried opening in safe mode (keeping Shift pressed when opening)?

    Thanks for the reply...the midi issue seems to be only 1 project so far & I can work around by just changing the tracks.
    No change in safe mode. The projects are new & old both...some very recent, as i like to do some work in the old GT Pro before importing into Sonar bec my workflow is so much faster than Sonar. Gt Pro must be just 32 bits - it's old, but importing to sonar hasn't been a problem. It's just sudden that I can't work in GT Pro. My guess is that one of the windows update is interfering??
