strange mixdown behavior

so, in some projects when I mixdown (using X1c),  i notice that the mixdown track is automatically assigned an output buss other than the master bus.   does this mean that the newly mixed down track is bussed thru that buss ?   how can i get it to mix down through the master buss all the time ?

    Right-click your Master bus, and Set as Default Bus. All new tracks, whether inserted or created by bouncing, will be assigned to the default bus.
