studio instr no play back also erases velosity trail?

i have MC4 with studio instruments kinda newbee but doing home work .

when i record a sample from say the strings im showing a velocity trail, and hear the instrmnt but on play

back the work is erased and no sound i have the latency on fast. any help thnx

    it's odd that you say the work is erased?

    I don't own SI.. but it should be like any other synth where it's just triggering the VSTi (SI in your case)
