suddenly Delta 1010 latency

Suddenly I have big time latency using the Delta ASIO drivers (or when I select wdm).
I changed the buffer size from 256 to 128 (in the Delta panel and in X1) but it made no difference. If I select 64 bit engine it immediately shuts down the audio engine.
Also the Delta control panel doesn't open up when I press ASIO panel sometimes FWIW.

Can anyone suggest something to try?
Thanks very much,
Randy

EDIT: reported latencies is showing round trip of 13.2 msec, 583 samples
under sync and caching, under "use asio reported latency" it shows 1234
I closed prefs and now don't even get any sound

When was the last time your 1010 functioned normally?  What changes have happened since that time that could've affected it?  (The most likely is Windows Automatic updates).

You can try using System Restore to take it back.  (I would do this before reinstalling anything).

Hey Star, I had tried that just before you posted but it didn't work.
Hey JD, I went back as far as I could to 8-7-11 and that did the trick...thanks!!!!...now my only question is I wonder which windows update I need to avoid to keep it from happening again?!
    Thanks very much my friends,
    Randy

    Thanks Star!
Actually Jon, a couple of other things I did directly to X1 recently was install the Vegasaur demo and the X1c patch....do you think it could have been one of those?

Yes. I'd be looking at the X1c patch. Don't know if you saw the thread, but my CPU Usage skyrocketed since installing the X1c patch and when I did a system restore from an image it did not fix it. So I don't know if it was the X1c patch, or something else happened and it was a coincidence that it showed up when I installed it. But I would take a serious look at the X1c patch. A couple others have reported CPU spikes and poorer performance as well, but very few. I don't want to blow it out of proportion as it doesn't appear to be happening to very many at all.

Not sure what-all you've got going on there, but wanted to confirm that I've been noticing this since the X1c update. It often takes a second click to open the ASIO panel.

In case anyone's interested it apparently has nothing to do with the X1c patch.
I went to a later system restore which was before the patch was installed and the latency was there too.
