synth may not be installed properly

i'm trying to call up my  VSampler that has worked in X2 before but getting the dreaded "may not be installed properly" message...  looked around and couldn't find anything that would help out.  not really sure how/if it can be deleted in the manager.  any ideas?

Intel quad core, 16 Gigs RAM, M-Audio Delta 44 interface, M-Audio Midisport, Win 7 x64, Platinum

    Is this the DXi version of VSampler? Are you running the 64bit version of X2a?

    well, i've tried both version of Vsampler and have both 32/64 bit versions of X2a going and havn't got it to open yet.  it's not software that i use a lot, but has some nice samples that i have used before. i had gotten it to work with X2, pretty sure that was before the upgrade to X2a.  i was going to try to delete it  in the plug-in manager but can't find a way to do that yet.  i've read some threads on here and have tried running X2 in Admin mode with no success.  Vsampler is working find in stand alone mode.  i'm thinking it has something to do with the upgrade?

    To hide a plug-in in the Plug-in Manager, you can use the "Exclude Plug-in" button in the bottom right of the Plug-in Manager.
     
    To remove a DXi entry run the cmd.exe as administrator and at the DOS prompt  type "regsvr32 /u" with the name of the DXi dll.
     
    I have not installed VSampler recently so I have no firsthand experience with it on Win7.
     
    If your .sig is correct running 64bit SONAR may be difficult with only 4GB of RAM.
     
    Given the age of the plug-in, I would not be surprised if it does require SONAR to be run as administrator. Moreover, since it is a 32bit only plug-in, the VST may have problems running in 64bit SONAR.

    i agree on only using it on 32 bit... but i did have it going when i first installed X2, before the upgrade.   thanks for the tip on how to uninstalled the DXi so i can try to re-install.   "excluding" wouldn't do what i'm looking for if i'm reading that right. so i'll give that a try later tonight.
    i've been looking at the other sample players that came with X2 trying to figure out which would be good for the multi samples that i have on hand.. some old Akai and  soundfonts.  suggestions?
     
    so far not much problem running it in 64bit with my RAM, havn't done anything TOO extensive yet.

    Nothing for Akai
    sfz claims to support for soundfonts.
    The older sfz+ Professional is a free download but is probably as old as VSampler.
    That is about it from Cakewalk.
     
    Kontakt may be your best bet. For free TX16Wx will play soundfonts.

    scook.. thanks for your help... i did get VSampler going in 32bit... had to use a dxi uninstaller but was successful on the re-install.  it'll get used more when i call up an old file that uses some of those patches.

    I only have 4 Gigs of RAM and it has never caused an issue. You just can't be a heavy VST / Plug in user  that's all.
    I'm pretty traditional so use mostly audio tracks with only a few standard EFX, normally only 2 sends. I might have a compressor on a few tracks. Then I use TTS-1, Session drummer and possibly one more soft synth like true Pianos. You need the RAM horsepower if your into electronic music I guess. Or your possibly over doing it just because you can.
