Syncing the uh7000 might be tricky since it has no clock in - only the clock signal sent via spdif.
But you should be able to use the uh7000 as the audio interface and still use the v-studio as a controller only (it only has a spif in or out - you need to check). But the UH -7000 is a high quality audio piece, beating the bejebbers out of the v-studio (I've had both), esp. on the preamp side. It is also superior to your golden pre, which is a good preamp if a little dirty. The 7000 doesn't have a DI, so keep the radial (or inserts, and high latency).
Of course, the beating it gives is really a matter of degree. The subtle difference might not matter to you. But the 7000 is also going for $400, not $600, which is list. Not sure why the price is so low, but it hits a very sweet spot and makes a great "stupid deal of the day." I'd try one but be able to return it if it doesn't work or meet your specifications. But I bet it will.
