template question

Am wondering if there is an easier way, possibly just click and save multiple tracks  with the plugins.  What I currently have done, is I have one project that I like the way I routed the tracks, I like the eq for the bass guitar, and on the drums. I saved the project under a different name, then took out the audio on those tracks and all other tracks deleted, then saved it as a template.

Is there an easier way?  I know this is sort of simple, but if there is a faster and easier way, I am on board.

You may also find it useful to save as a track template rather than a project template.  A track template is a saved configuration of tracks, routing, softsynths and effects.  It can be added to a project at any stage, not just at the start.
