the greatful thread
Hi guys, Newbie here. I used an identical pay-per-month plan with other amateur-pro DAWS and successfully owned a starter DAW upon completion. Now, I am enrolled in the same payment plan but with a PRO DAW...actually its called Cakewalk Professional and my pre-Q is this: WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? Everyday my body rocks with speechless enthusiasm knowing I can get my EP done without having to hire outsourced music workers to polish my stems from an am-pro DAW. MUCH of it will be done by my shiney new PRO DAW. I have subsisted under the poverty line for much of my life and can only pay per month. My laptops 4GB RAM and Intel Core i5 CPU barely makes the minimum. But I did it. I've assembled the tools that can make great music. The disparity of income vs. latent talent has been a fact of life since the lousy invention of currency, lol. Now in the "bedroom producer" age I can get my music made and out to the internet-at-large to see what others think. Perhaps even set up a successful brand web presence and make an honest living at 100% music income!! Anyway, I'll be back for sure. Just have one last question before I go for now. Is this the page I want for a Cakewalk Pro manual? Thanks again Cakewalk- been following you since my late teens! Peace. Jay

Great, glad you're happy. But this forum sees the fanboy hit-and-run as often as the hate-it-all hit-and-run. So stick around and contribute!

It is also useful to view the videos in CCC, if you used it for install. Ps. If your pc is struggling when you work on a big project (even if you are not there yet), you can freeze tracks (it is reversible), to free up more "pc power"

Welcome to the forum. Here's a link to the online manual which you can also access via the help menu in Sonar https://www.cakewalk.com/...t=SONAR&language=3The Sonar Reference guide is usually found in C:/Cakewalk Content/Sonar. I think. Not in front of my PC so not quite sure. Someone will come along and correct me if it's wrong please. Also there's Scott Garrigus' Power books which should have new info available soon.

Excellent. Its been thirty or so years since I first heard of Cakewalk. Can't wait. Zargg71 Ps. If your pc is struggling when you work on a big project (even if you are not there yet), you can freeze tracks (it is reversible), to free up more "pc power"
Am familiar with freeze tracks. Tho' I am a plotting composer its time to get my songs finished and published. Seeing the "songs within the songs" at this point in my journey and so each beat deserves a melodic and harmonic once over and then I'm done. If I want speed I draw a pro sound in the MIDI window and multiply it for that phrase. Lots of cool things about to happen. Thanks again guys! Sincerely, Jay

Maybe this is yet another new beginning for CakeAlex/Splat/Doc Avalanche 1/Doc Avalanche 2/An Other, where "things we've never seen will seem familiar". edited to add "yet", and. perhaps. some irony
