this is weird, probably fixable?
oftentimes when i want to insert a new audio track, or soft synth, the audio track's output automatically gets sent to the Metronome bus. this is a work-flow killer (especially with soft synths) because i have to manually change the output of each track to something logical. is there a way to prohibit this? i bloody hate it!

Right-click on any bus and choose 'Set as Default Bus'. SP

thank you so much Seth! is the "Default Bus" setting per project or a general setting for all projects & future projects?

I can't say Iv'e had this happen but,I must say my dell laptop[April 2011] does the oddest things, and will not upload to soundcloud no matter what,so I ask if your machine is a laptop? My self picked parts desktop is so flawless it's amazing[mostly due to me NEVER having used ANY computer before my join date!,and yet, that desktop NEVER does ANYTHING weird!EVER!....yet],but it is down in a very cold un insulated room, and its winter here[coldest ever],so I'm soldiering on with a surprisingly buggy xps l502x i7 2630qm 8GB RAM 750GB 7,200rpm Seagate HDD laptop, that I'm forever thankful,is NOT the only machine I've got[or I would certainly be bald,at the very least]so,instead of getting an RME usb audio interface,I took the chance that a LOT of the weirdness in X1,and other things was the laptop......and guess what? IT WAS!!! Iv'e since come to the conclusion, that a very intensive piece of SW,like X1,needs a clean, optimised machine, and lets face it,laptops are crammed to the hilt,It surprises me they do as well as they do,but having bugs/user error happening together can make it very trying, but my listed machine is so perfect,I feel I stumbled[with a ton of research] to the perfect machine for X1. Sorry,I'm not more help,but.... http://soundcloud.com/rks26/my-own2 Bob

I have had this issue many many times and even when I choose the master as default bus it still eventually screws up. Heres hoping for an "E" patch.

wetdentist thank you so much Seth! is the "Default Bus" setting per project or a general setting for all projects & future projects? Per-project, so be sure to setup your templates with this however you like it routed and you'll be good to go in all future projects. SP

Phonic I have had this issue many many times and even when I choose the master as default bus it still eventually screws up. Heres hoping for an "E" patch. This happens to me sometimes in Sonar 7PE, i.e. the default bus changes by itself. Maybe this bug has been present throughout several versions of Sonar.
