thoughts on advertising for a singer/vocalist?

I scanned through the CW forums but have not seen a place for asking this question. Is there a general consensus resource when advertising for a musician, vocalist, etc.? This would be "I am seeking a..." type of post. I have tried craigslist, reposting a second time this week in as many weeks and haven't had any takers, which I could blame on a number of factors (the music is not appealing comes to mind, holiday season, so on).
Happy New Year all.

For live or recording collaboration (over the internet)?

Not that I'm asking for me (I am not a singer, just ask Mooch4056).

I just thought you might want to be specific.

There's websites that cater to that sort of thing..... singers advertising their skills for a price...... musicians doing the same.... and folks looking

I forget the name of the site.... but I'll wager someone here knows of at least one.

Bandmix.com is one that I've browsed in the past. But the last time I checked, just like a dating site, you need to join to get the actual contact info if you see someone interesting.

Google "find singer" or "find musician" and you will find dozens and dozens.

Craigslist seems to be more useful for finding lost cats or used lawnmowers. If you do use Craig, search vocalist if you do not want old sewing machines.

bapu: it is a request for project/recording collaboration. I had defaulted on it as an exercise over the internet as I do not do live gigs (anymore), don't have a recording contract (happily), and figured if someone in another part of the world felt compelled to take a shot at it then that would steer the relationship and the process. The ad is here if anyone has input as to language mods.

I suppose one critical change would be to not limit it the SF area. Will change that up next round.

slartabartfast: I am not above collaborating with a lost cat, a used lawnmower or even a sewing machine, old or new, so if you know of any please feel free to forward me their contact info.

Much appreciated y'all.

Yes, don't limit your search area!  Thanks to the internet and the ability to exchange tracks and stems online, you can work with just about anyone.  One of the best collaborations I've ever been involved with had musicians from the UK and America along with a singer in Belgium.

www.songstuff.com is a site dedicated to hooking up people in music and helping musicians. No telling what you might come across there. There is a collaboration section. People  posting new music etc. John is a great guy ( the owner).

Heck, isn't the early CHB pretty much a band with many of these folks and then some?

Whoa. Looks like the minimum is $200 per song (if you provide the melody, more if they do).
