Hats off to Cakewalk's marketing team - September 14, 07 9:51 AM ( #1 )
I have to say, Cakewalk is damn quick with it's catching of announcements and previews of SONAR 7. Not more than 10 minutes ago, there was another leak, this time screenshots, and the moguls of marketing took down the post. So now, we have 2 bases of pre-informed users (well 3 actually . . . ). First group is those that saw the feature list, second group is those that saw the screenshot, and finally, those who rank as demigods who saw both.

Hat's off to Cakewalks forum moderators for catching these things quickly!

Hey thanks. I kind of feel like a jerk for pulling these things down. I'd love for you guys to get a look at SONAR 7, because what we have in store is pretty exciting, but I have my marching orders...no leaks.

Nah, that's your job... we poke fun at how tight lipped you guys are, but *most* of us realize that it's for a reason. In actuality, these forums probably help you quite a bit because we're like 10 year olds on an easter egg hunt.

We're looking forward to it, though!

I was being completely honest, there was no sarcasm intended at all.

We understand. Not to worry. It will come in due time. No wine before its time.

I'm sitting here on a slower(er) Friday morning, reading posts and drinking coffee whilst watching my 3-year-old twin daughters have breakfast. They're currently looking for treasure in their bowls of Special K with joy and wonderment at every turn.

I know not every Sonar "treasure-hunter" is going at it this way... but I have to say, it's kinda cute the way you guys are turning over rocks, leaves, and cereal flakes to see if you can find something out about Sonar 7...

Have a GREAT day

So the Sam Ash screenshot was premature? Same thing happened with a retailer last year, if I recall correctly. Ooops!

BTW, I don't think that screen shot was very revealing... couple of new plugins and some changes to TV... The real goods are gonna come with the official announcement and the website update... Monday morning, ladies and gentleman! The marketing team needs the weekend to deploy the new website, IMO... Monday morning!

I think that is a bit wishful . . . We are looking at probably an announcement the last week of September. The Monday starting the last week . . . that to me, is a bit more likely.

No, it wasn't very revealing. However, it did announce the date of the Sonar 7 Tour at Sam Ash. And it's not very far off!

Well I don't really care one way or the other, but I think all the secrecy is silly. What's the big deal? We're all going see it soon anyway. Whatever.

Can Marketing hold onto my passport for me? I feel it might be in safer hands with them.

Good job. And don't worry, we'll all jump on the site the moment it is released and hammer your web server just like always.

I say you guys just have a surprise release right now. BAM! no warning, no build up. Just POW! SMACK! Sonar 7 available in download format. Even if it's just available to a few select users (me) in the next 20 minutes. I would greatly appreciate it.

It's hard enough to download a patch around here. I'd hate to DL a DVD's worth of material.
