VST plugs for vocal distortion

I was curious if there is a VST plug in out there that does a light distortion effect for vocals. I have tried cyanide but I am not too happy with the results. I was looking for a slight distortion effect, as used by Slipknot. Anybody seen a good plug for this? Free would be even better :)

Thanks

Definitely go through the distortions at KVR like flinger suggested.

Also try Boogex and Tube Amp from the Voxengo free VSTs.

I really like Boogex. You can get some really good sounds from that for guitar and I'm sure vocals too. I have Amplitube 2 too but sometimes I find what I'm looking for in Boogex.

What would make a distortion plug "specific" to vocal tracks? Vs, the myriad of distortion plugs out there used for guitar? Couldn't you adjust one to taste?

I use izotope Trash for all my distortion needs. It covers everything I need.

If I'm aiming for more transparent stuff I sometimes just use my preamp or Vintage Warmer, but since you asked specifically for distortion plug that's what I'm recommending.

I tend to strap Voxengo Boogex across stuff I need distorted (as opposed to 'warmed', which is a different question.) It has the advantage of being free :-)
