Is Edirol UA-25EX USB 2.0 ?

Hi. From the Edirol Web site, it's seems that the UA-25EX is USB 1.1. In fact they only mention that it is an USB interface. But on some eStore, the UA-25EX is advertised as a USB 2.0 audio interface.
Is it really USB 2.0 ?

Do not confuse this new model with the original UA-25.

By the way I want to buy an audio interface and I'm looking for Edirol UA-25EX or UA-4FX.

I'm an hobbyist and I mainly used soft synth. I will record only a few tracks for vocals. But I want a good audio interface to replace my old Sb Audigy card and I expect to have low latency.

I don't have Firewire on my music PC and I may use the interface on a less powerful notebook.

Any advice ?

    Alvie..

doesn't say 1.1 on the specs on the Roland site.. and from what I gather the "EX" is relatively new.. it's superseded the older model... June 12, 2008 was news

    http://www.edirol.net/news/en/

have a read of this also.. I can't see anywhere it says it's 1.1

and also on the roland US site..besides USB 1 is an old format now.. also the transfer rate between the 2... 11 mbits vs 400 odd... I'd assume it's USB 2, since it's such a new product.

    Thank Fog.

It's just that Edirol specify USB except for the UA-101 where they clearly mention USB 2.0. I also found that some newer interface from Yamaha are USB1.1, even if they have been release in 2008.

Any user of UA-25EX who can confirm if it is USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 ?

I'm about to buy an audio interface this week !

    Alain,
I noticed the ua-25 ex does not do full duplex at 96kHz (i.e. can't simultaneous playback and record). That and the fact that the Roland site does NOT say USB 2.0 makes me think it is NOT 2.0.

    Thank for the links.

I will be able to compare those 2 interfaces.

Now I have to decide if USB 1.1 will be enough for me ?

alvie where are you buying from a shop or online?

    easier if it's a shop I guess.

it's a laptop? so your limited to either usb / pcima (but they are a bit more normally) or firewire (if you have that option, check if you have a Ti chipset.. to avoid any issues)

I use an m-audio ozone , but they don't sell them any more.. it's good enough for what I want but it's not my main rig.

    Hi Fog.

I'm gonna buy it at a store, but I want to check specs before getting there, so I will be inform.

I'm gonna use the interface on my main PC. It do not have a Firewire card. I may also use it on a laptop to record vocals in different rooms.

I'm using mainly soft synth and I want to add some vocals tracks.

By the way, I just found a store (near were I live) that sold the Lexicon Lambda for under 200$ (CND). I have download the manual and I will take a look at it.

    Seem a good product.
