Problems with Superior Drummer, Please Help
Hey all I am currently using Sonar 6 Producer. I have used ezdrummer for awhile now and never had any problems. I just recently bought superior drummer and tried to install yesterday. I did all 5 disks with the full install, but when I try to open it in Sonar it's not there. I have searched the various threads on here, but I still can't find the answer. I know I read that I have to find the superior.dll but after 2 installations it is still nowhere on my computer. Any ideas?

There are two installers (maybe three) on the Superior disks. One installs the sample libraries. The other installs the actual Superior program. Have another look on the disks. Be sure to read any ReadMe files that you find there. I believe EZplayer Pro is another separate install.

I got ezplayer working just fine, but superior drummer is a no go. I can't count how many times I have reinstalled. I put the .dll file into the vst plugins folder and when I scan it shows that it scans the file, but it isn't under insert soft synths.

Have you checked your plug-in manager to absolutely rule out that it's not on your system Forget menu layouts and all that - look in the plug-in manager If it's not there, then you will have to delete the .dll - to get it off your system - it must be corrupt - you can do custom installs of the programme so you only have to re-do that part of it. I've no idea why it's not showing up. I would advise using the Toontrack forum as they have Toontrack staff who deal with these things all the time. I'd try and be specific as to the procedure you use and what you're doing and where you are placing it - this will help them solve it.

What is the name of the dll? I know it's obvious but I cure more problems by attacking the obvious first. Are you installing Superior 2.2 or one of the earlier versions?

No it is on my system, I have to extract it from this data1.cab file otherwise when you install it there is no .dll at least for me anyway. The name of the .dll is superior_drummer.dll When I scan vst's it says that it is scanning that file so it can see it, but for some reason it is nowhere to be found.

The file in my VSTplugins folder is called Superior Drummer.dll. The space in the middle is intentional.

Why don't you download the new Superior 2.2.0 update at the Toontrack.com site. Log in using your user name and password. Go to the downloads area and download the update. You can do a clean install without a previous installation. You will be able to authorize your product and get rocking and rolling pretty soon. Please read the Readme file in the WinZip file. It's important to make sure the Superior Drummer.dll is being installed in the Program files\Cakewalk\VSTplugins\ folder. The installer should pick up the info for the other files on it's own. Got it fixed. Thanks to everyone for helping! Proper forum etiquette dictates that when you solve a problem, you a) add [RESOLVED] or [FIXED] to your post title, and b) tell us how you fixed the problem. This is important for future seekers who may be experiencing the same problem, and if everyone does that over time the forum becomes a valuable knowledge base.
