Dude!  I don't know what you're on about the word, "Preview" every twenty or so seconds, but you can't put the same element in every single song.  I mean, I'm a big fan of the piano, but I don't use it in every song.  That's a crutch, dude.  Total crutch.

Are the prices for usage rights or is that actually what you're charging?

Actually, I played a couple of your selections.  Apart from the stream spoiler, they're nice.  Not quite worth $75.95, but they are pretty.

hey thanks for the comment... i originally read it from my phone and thought you were insane because the winking smiley face didn't show up haha. now that i see it i know that you were joking :-) of course that company puts "preview" over every song on the whole site from every artist to make sure people don't just record and steal the songs. i assure everyone that i wasn't just trying to tie all my songs together with a woman's voice saying "preview" as a common theme. haha.

as for prices, that site is a music library, and those are the licensing prices. its cheaper if you just want it to listen to (like way cheaper). but those are all the recommended prices for licensing that audiosparx recommended for my music. i've licensed music for $300 a track before though, so i think 75 bucks is pretty fair :-)

thanks for checking my stuff out!

That's kind of what I thought it was for - something along those lines.  Anyway, your music is definitely bump worthy.

You are creating some nice music but theres one guy who is KING of Electronica music , he goes by the name of Homeless Balloon on SoundClick and on many other sites and is raking in the bucks with his electronica music .

Your music sounded a bit like his , his music is professional electronic music the best I have heard so far he's a master at creating it and makes alot of money selling his songs off the internet .
Check him out and you'll see what I'm talking about , I do like your music very nice !

i'm going to have to do a search for this guy later tonight and check out his stuff. you know it's funny, i don't really listen to anyone that makes music like my own. but i should definitely start. and if this guy is the best and mine sounds like him, i guess i'm in the right direction :-)

    thanks for the comment!

Maybe I should stop and rethink where I'm at now and where I post my music , I know my music is far from being something great I'm just a beginner on this journey I started three years ago or so and have so much to learn .
If I could make one wish come true it would be to someday create music like this guy creates , all I can do is to keep working on my goals and enjoy this journey I'm on right now , someday I will find my own world of music within myself  .

Wait..... so his advice is what?  I mean, he's right about everything there.  That's why many of us are so jaded.

But simply "take risks" is pretty generic.

I want 10 easy steps to follow.  And big breasts!

    Re:Hot New Artist on Audiosparx.com 2010/05/05 14:56:18 (permalink)
    haha nermin.

and thanks for the links james. i'll take a look at them. i'm sort of of the mindset that most advice in the music business just simply isn't necessary though. in the long run it's all going to be about getting out there and meeting the right people and doing the right things.
i've been doing this for 10 years. i've had some successes, i've had some failures, and the number one thing that i've noticed is that there's no rhyme or reason to the results. it's just right place at the right time. so i just keep pushing hoping for more successes than failures. i mean for example i have these comedy rap albums available thru cdbaby and their digital distribution, and i'm just about to break the $1000 mark on them. all of them are a very niche market type of thing, and the fact that they're very dirty doesn't help. and while $1000 combined isn't much, it's a nice little bit of change considering that i've done very little to promote them except while i was in my early to mid 20s, getting drunk and giving flyers to girls to help start conversations and doing shows to meet more girls haha. but like no money spent on that stuff at all, and yet random people from the internet have spent 8 bucks here, 1 buck here, .002 cents here on that stuff...
then i release a truly amazing (not to toot my own horn here, but the album is great), rap album by an artist named Skydro which i made all the music, produced, engineered, basically did absolutely everything on it except the rapping... he's done shows. he has a professional press kit. he's done radio interviews. plenty of press around town and out of town. we spent lots of money on promoting him. he had a music video made for one of the songs from the album that got over 13,000 plays on youtube... guess how much money his album has made online since it was release on july 4th, 2009? $0.25 cents. haha. i mean, we followed every "rule" in the book. we got advice from all kinds of industry people, we had help promoting, we spent $100's of dollars, we put on some great shows for him... just no bites. and physical cd sales haven't been much better.

i can't believe i just typed this much, that wasn't my intent haha. the whole thread was to talk about how excited i am to be made a hot new artist at audiosparx.com (something i'm very proud of considering that doing instrumental music thru music libraries is really where i want to be). and understand that with the Skydro thing, i'm not complaining and i still stay very positive about it. i'm scheduling some more shows for him now and trying to figure out other ways we can continue to push him. also about to put out a 2nd video from the album... i'm just showing an example of how it really is kinda random what is going to work and what isn't, and industry advice is kinda, well, not something to be taken too seriously. the best advice you can possibly get is GET OUT THERE AND KEEP GOING! :-)

I checked out some of your tunes recently, David.  Good stuff!

I'm working on an album right now that I'm aiming towards movie/video game sound track type stuff.  Although it's a bit different.  I'm still tweaking things in the mix (i.e. the sound of the drums) and working on mastering so the two songs I have on the album right now sound a bit different.  I'm focusing on the song in my sig right now "Into the Darkness", and once I achieve the sound I'm looking for, I'll apply it to the first song on the album "Starless Night".  I am also waiting for Electri6ity to come out (May 17th) then I will swap out the Kontakt 4 guitar for that.

I eventually plan to get my stuff out there on music libraries and market it a bit after I complete the album.  Hopefully something comes out of it, but if not, I am still doing something I love and I'll keep trying.

Good luck to you and keep writing those sweet tunes!

haha you guys :-) you know if you want to listen to some more WITHOUT the preview on it... search David Rosen on www.Acidplanet.com ... a few of the same ones are on there and some different ones. I was actually awarded Best Song of 2007 on there for one of the tracks :-)

    thanks for the comments guys!

and to james, cdbaby is great BUT they've been going through some real growing pains with their new redesign since new years. but hopefully things will be a little nicer again soon.
