It's not free for T-Racks users. Only for users that bought in during this current group buy. Don't want to get folks that bought T-Racks years ago excited over nothing.

In big defense of Sonar we did get that HELLA GOOD DEAL of $10.00 "upgrade" er whatevers recently that many users were able to use...Got my Concrete Limiter with it and I appreciate it very much!!! Be patient Svision...They may do another one like that when that L2A is released;-) Even if they don't they have still done some wonderful stuff that way. Just recently was the Quad EQ which was a nice love bump...

Have to agree with you there; I got my Concrete Limiter for $10, as well. AND I got the entire Expanded package during the Xmas Bundle sale. Cakewalk is not bad with offers to those of us who are already customers. (And they e-mail the hell out of you so you can't miss the deals...) And yes, the IK deal was nice, too (got it up and running).
Sonar X2 Producer (32-bit); all current CW PC modules; endless plugins; Edirol PCR-800; Win7 Pro 32-bit SP1 (therefore only 3.5 gb RAM seen); M-Audio Delta 66 audio interface; Mackie 1642-VLZ3 mixer (but do all mixing in Sonar Console View, which I love); lots of hardware I don't actually use anymore; 1972 Rickenbacker 4001 bass (Chris Squire days); other basses, guitars, mics, etc.

I really "love" companies that pee on existing users... IK Multimedia will never see any more money from me, that's for sure. Payed full price in December, 459 Euro....

iv never had issues with IK but like i said iv been a sonar user and iv got no books , plugs or,deals with x1, i guess that why i feel jaded. with every other upgrade there where some nice deal ,guess i missed the bus is all. but giving the brick limiter for a few over a short period , to then sell it for 79 bucks. when we all know again , with x1 producer xpanded it should of been in that upgrade. if i saw it for 10 bucks it would be worn out already

Sorry to hear that. FWIW, I almost never buy plug-ins at full price. There's discounts and sale all the time these days. If you're not familiar w/ it, you may want to check the Software sub-forum here. There's pretty much always someone posting the latest/best deals.

I really don't care about the money, it's the way to treat existing customers. Everybody knows that it's far easier to get additional sales from existing customers than finding new ones... Yeah it's worthwhile following companies strategies. They tend to have sales and new releases around the same times. Unless you want to be first to own a product or it's absolutely essential to have then it's worth waiting. I think this one is a particularly good deal and most people who have bought it in the past or the singles in other sales will still have paid more than it is now. NI sold Komplte at £999, then £799 and £325. You can imagine how happy some of them were. Firms in general seem to be making the long term user the last on the gravy train.

I would never buy anything at retail prices from IKMultimedia as it's only a matter of time before they offer some sort of group buy or sale pricing. Quite frankly, this goes for almost all audio software related companies. Even Waves who for quite some time seemed to stick to listed prices has gone the route of sale pricing. Toontrack is another company that if you can wait about a year from product release you will always find some time of the year when it's on sale somewhere on the web.

Now if they could only remember that they have an awesome piece of software called CSR... Seems that they have all but forgotten that one. It's the one thing that's never on sale at IK - and probably the one I'd have bought first.

Quite frankly, this goes for almost all companies. Fixed. How do you think Priceline et al get such good deals. Last in get the rates. That means cash in which is better than an empty room (so long as the staff and the laundry is already paid for) same thing with planes. Doesn't usually apply to the best destinations. In this case it can mean a chance to sell old stuff just before the new comes out (SampleTank is coming they say!) Brian

I also owned T-Racks Deluxe. I still did the crossgrade for $100 and got a new version of T-Racks Deluxe PLUSE the White and Black compressors. Now when the group buy is over I'll sell my old T-Racks for $100 and I'll end up with T-Racks Deluxe with the 2 new compressors FOR FREE. It's great that IK lets you transfer licenses. You can do the same. IK is really a great company. It's pretty unfair to dis them for giving great deals.

I got "stung" a while back by IK myself. I have since given away my licenses to others and have no intention of buying from them again. All these generous software sales- that's what this stuff is actually worth. Don't be an idiot like I was (and still am quite frequently) and pay full price, ever.

This is a HUGE news as far as I'm concerned. Great plug-ins, sales all the time and no more iLock. I think the competition may not be all that happy w/ it. I know that I've often passed on their plug-ins for the sole fact that they required iLock. But they most likely would have been my first choice in many case. I hope this help send a signal to Softube and the other guys caught up in that iLock non-sense - keep iLock as an option (it is actually preferred by some) but offer an alternate copy protection method.

I know you've been very helpful and even go out of your way to assist people here and on many other sites, but there seems to be a lot of complaints with IK's "Support" or lack of. What's the actual reason for this? (Sorry, I'm not trying to put you on the spot here, but I'm just curious to the reason behind this.....). I do like IK's stuff and do have most of it and fortunately, never had to call support for anything.
