Proteus Xtreme Lead-1

Hi,

Finally got my MC6 up and running.  When the parcel arrived included in the package was E-MU Proteus-Xtreme Lead-1. On the front of the packaging it states "Amazing sounds for Cakewalk Dimension". Does this mean it won't work with MC6? On the rear is the following:

System requirements:
Dimension Pro/Dimension LE

Grateful for any advice you can offer. (No I haven't attempted to load it yet.)

Many thanks.

Taran.

if the requirements state that you need DimPro or DimLE, then no, it won't work with MC6.  you'd need to upgrade to X1 Essentials to get DimLE or X1 Producer to get DimPro.

At one time, you could find Proteus-X on the net for free.   I grabbed it but just spent a few minutes searching with google and did not find it....

However..... inside of MC6 you have a ton of really good synths and sampled sounds. I would not sweat too much over the Proteus thing.

I suspect that at some point you may end up buying DimLE  so at that time the proteus stuff will work.

Just checked the CW store..... DimLE is $50 and comes with Garritan (GPO) which has some decent orchestral stuff.  There's your ticket to ride.

Awhile back, Cakewalk was offering a 'mystery' gift with every purchase. That's probably what you got.
It's an expansion pack for Dimension which MC 6 didn't include, but as Guitarhacker wrote, Dimension is available seperately.

If you do decide to buy Dimension, save a little longer, and get the full DimPro version.
It's $99, and hugely better than DimLE.

It appears that you can get DimLE free when you register the Proteus Pack.
It's worth a shot, and makes sense, considering the Proteus Pack is useless without it.
I would not be inclined to purchase DimLE, but as a bundled starter, it's ok.

That's the way to go right there.  I know I have the LE version..... and I don't remember how I ended up with it. It's pretty cool.
