Latest version of HS 4

I'm running an older version of HS 4.0.1 on Win XP that I purchased a couple of years ago off of ebay and I'd like to get the latest upgrade for it to take care of a couple of small problems I've encountered. I've tried applying the Sonar 4 patches from the Cakewalk site, but I keep getting the error message "Cannot find Sonar 4 directory". Can anyone tell me where I might find the latest (last) upgrade Cakewalk made to HS 4? Thank you! Jim

Thank you. However that is the update that failed with the "directory not found" issue. If that is indeed the correct HS update could I have a different problem?

The Sonar 4 updates will not work with Home Studio 4 because it is not the same program. The Sonar 4 directory does not exist on your computer. There were no patches for SHS4. What problems are you trying to correct?

That helps a great deal. Thank you! I have a work around for my biggest problem and that is when I try to save a copy of my cwp or cwb file to a network computer (for backup purposes Sonar blows up and I have to reboot. Of course the workaround is to save the files locally and then move them through windows explorer. There seem to be other little bugs like sporadically not being able to highlight a clip (a Sonar restart fixes this) or having the program crash for no apparent reason. Generally those are the kind of things that are fixed in updates, which is why I asked. Thanks for your reply - I can now stop looking for updates!

Glad to help. I started out with SHS4, and had a lot of fun with it. I've been running SHS6XL since it came out. I remember a long list of things that were addressed from SHS4. There are still some new, boxed versions of it floating around. You might want to look into that. It is rock solid under XP, and runs better on my machine than X1 does. Don't be tempted to get X2, at least not while you are running XP. The updates won't load in XP.
