Multiple ASIO Devices?

Hello. I have SONAR 5.2 on an Athlon 64 3000 machine - with a Line6 GuitarPort and an Audigy2 ZS soundcard (please hold the applause).

Experiencing a whole bunch of crackling with the WDM mode with the Audigy. Trying to switch to ASIO mode, but it forces the GuitarPort into action (i.e. I can't use the Line Ins on the Audigy 2 ZS).

So, I have the following questions:

1) How can I choose between using the SB ASIO vs. GuitarPort?
2) Is it even feasible to have two ASIO-devices on the machine at once?
3) If I were to configure SONAR to utilize the SB ASIO, would that prevent me from recording with the GuitarPort?
4) Am I wasting my time?

TIA! Feel free to flame the noob if need be :)

    Sonar only supports one ASIO device at a time as you know WDM will handle multiple audio devices. The only suggestion I can give on the crackling is to make you latency higher and re-profile your audio card this may help.

    Does Sonar support multiple ASIO firewire devices of the same brand by any chance?

    Thanks, Bruce. Do you know if there's a tool that lets me choose which ASIO device I would want to use? ASIO4ALL lets me choose, but it doesn't look like it translates well to SONAR (it still wants to revert to the GuitarPort - the ASIO4ALL inputs/outputs are disabled)

    Thanks again!

    You can't use more than one ASIO driver simultaneously in any app - it's a limitation of ASIO.
    However, there are situations when several interfaces can share the one ASIO driver - this depends entirely on the qualities of the driver.
    With M-audio, for example, you can use up to 4 interfaces from the Delta range, even mix different types, using the same ASIO driver, and all interfaces appear in the Delta ASIO control panel.

    OK. I figured out one part of the problem. Now I can switch between ASIO devices:

    * Options
    * Audio
    * change to ASIO on 2nd tab
    * on final tab, de-select GuitarPort ASIO - then the SB Audigy ASIO options are enabled.

    Thanks again!
