Ahha! Found my own answer. (I did a search before posting on this, I did, I did!) It turns out that it's the Audio Metronome (a feature I've always disliked - I'm a step entry sort of user!).
I regsvr32'd a Groove Player dll that I found on my system... and the error's gone. Here's the details I found in another topic: (http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.asp?m=318664)
Hello Dan,
If you open up the Metronome Options dialog, and the samples show up in the drop-down list there, then you can be sure Sonar "knows" where they are. If the drop-down lists are empty, then you have found the source of the problem. If this is not the issue, you can try the following: Find the file named "GroovePlayer.dll". This plugin is used as the Audio Metronome engine. It is most likely located in your Shared DXi folder (the default location is C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Dxi). Try re-registering this plugin.
To registed a DLL:
- Start->Run
- type in: "cmd" and press OK
- type in: cd "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Dxi" (or whatever the correct location is) and press Enter
- type in: regsvr32 GroovePlayer.dll
Close the command prompt, and re-launch Sonar and try using the metronome again.
Hope this helps.
