Recording while having effects in the bin...

I just wanted to make absolutly certain that if I have an audio track with verbs, comps and delays in the effects bin...those effects IN NO WAY record? Sonar only tapes the incoming signal and the effects are only heard and printed?

i7-920, 8 GIGS DDR5, SONAR Pro 8.5.2, Motu Ultralite, UA Twin-Finity 710 pre, RNC 1773, M-Audio Axium 49, Event TR 8 and SP-5B Monitors, KRK Sub, Jolymod Oktava 219 mic, MXL V69m, SM7B, Studio Projects C1, POD 2.0 and APHEX 661 & the Variax 700 acoustic.

    Keee-rekt.

The recording itself is dry; and then the same effects that you heard while monitoring are re-applied in real time (as long as they remain in the bin) until you Bounce or Freeze.

Sonar does not record after the effects bin, it only records what comes from the sound card driver. So all is good.

However, if you have a sound card where the driver has the "what you hear" checkbox in the record options make sure that is off. Also, if the sound card has built in effects make sure those only get routed to the monitor bus and do not go on to the driver. Or turn them off.

I do this all the time with SaviHost running a VST for ambience, or any VST of your choice.

    SaviHost makes them "Free Standing".
