Cal script question

I was working on a piece last night which I had scored using the GPO Pipe Organ. After getting everything pretty well towards the finish I decided that I wanted to make the piece sound more legato so I highlighted the track for the organ manual and applied the Cal:Legato process. When I did this, several notes disappeared in the track. Applied Undo and the notes returned. I was applying the legato at 100% strength but it didn't seem to matter which strength I selected. When I applied the Cal:Legato to the pedal track everything worked like it should.

I must have a problem in the manual track that the Cal:Legato script doesn't like but I can't seem to find it. Suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jaybee,

I've noticed that the CAL's are running strange when applied to several clips - perhaps you could clone your existing track and mute it (just as a backup and to see where to split it into the same kind of clips if needed), then merge all the clips and then try running the Legato CAL - it works for me.

    Hope it helps

    Dennis,

Thanks for replying. I only had 2 tracks in this piece, a simple hymn, and I was only applying the Cal:Legato to one track at a time. I'll try what you suggested to see if that helps but I'm not too optimistic.

Isn't the CAL legato supposed to work with monophonic lines?

CAL is restricted to only looking forward in the sequence and processing one note at a time. It would take some clever programming for it to work polyphonically.

    1. Legato CAL works with monophonic material only. If you want to legato certain notes within polyphonic texture, you should first select those notes before running legato cal.

    2. Make shure your ppq resolution set to 960.
