Hello, i cannot export through OMF, i keep getting this exact error:

Also, i cannot export through CWB either, i get something like "cannot export, audio drive may be full", but i have like 100s of gigabytes free, whats wrong?

Your CWB fuile may be greater than 2gigs. Im assuming that you want to transfer a project to PT or another sequencer since your tryingf to also export to OMF. If thats not the case, then use per project folders and CWP files.

Theres also a tweak you can do in the aud.ini file ... Raise the BounceBuffSizeMsec to 25 to 50

Yeah, i think it MAY be over 2 gigs (i exported it last time and it was like 1.8 gigs). So what if it is, is there any way to save as OMF or CWB?

Also, what would increasing that Bounce buffer size do?

CWB cannot be over 2gigs, Use CWP and per project folders. Thats the best way to save projects anyways. you didnt answer why you want to save as OMF or CWB,??? Are you transporting the project tp pro tools or emailing the project as a CWB???? If not use CWP
Also, what would increasing that Bounce buffer size do?

    It might fix this
i get something like "cannot export, audio drive may be full",

You could probably use the option that doesn't embed the audio and that would work.
But .. not all systems can read those. Be sure to send the OMF *and* and sub-directory
it makes with all the audio files.

Last I checked, Digitranslator didn't like the non-embedded OMF files.

so, heres the update: I changed BounceBuffSizeMsec to 25, 50, 100, and 200; no change.

Ive tried both OMF 1 and 2, Have tried both the "embed audio within omf" option and the "reference audio externally" option, which the latter only allows "split stereo tracks into dual mono" (which of course i dont want), so nothing has worked so far.I get all the same errors which i had first mentioned; no change.

update to first post: cwb export says exactly: "unable to write output file. The audio disk may be full"

If you have any audio snap clips in the file you can't use bundles. Its a limitation of the bundle file because of the comression it employs.

How big is the project?? its either bigger than 2gigs, or audio snap is enabled someware, or you dont have enough disk space on the drive. It has to be one of the 3

Previous to version 7 there wasn't a work around for files in excess of 2 gig as that is a windows limitation. I believe that in SONAR 7 PE you can save bundles bigger than 2 gig. If you're using 7 then look it up in the readme that came with it if not then you can't anyway and you're stuck with bundle files of less than 2 gig.

    Yes that's right. that's a windows limitation.
If you're going to be moving such a large amount of data why not save as per project Audio folders and burn the whole lot uncompressed to a DVD. You weren't going to send 2 gig + sized files over the net or as email attachements anyway.

Seeing as you were going to send .cwb files your colleagues obviously have SONAR so there's no problem is there. Maybe try a different compression like zip o9 rar for your project if you need a single compressed archive which is really all that a .cwb file is except its Cakewalk's standard.

Well, thanks again to everyone that has helped me out on this one. I wanna state my current update. My song, if exported correctly, would only be a little over 2 gigs, obviously rendering it unexportable. So of course, like mudgel has said, i can use per project file transfer, and THANK THE HEAVENS ive been recording with per project files this whole time or else ida been skrewed. But theres another problem with this solution. Lemme first say that, in the past, when ive used the clean audio folder, it has erased files that were actully needed in my songs, so i have NEVER used it since (plus, no soundcard ive had so far will let me hear the wave files before i delete them, so ive done "delete all" in the clean audio folder option). So, taking that into account, i now want to state the problem: my song is actually over NINE GIGABYTES, which is obviously including all the wave files that are undeletable. As we all know, 9 gigs cant fit on anything but a blu ray or hd dvd, and i dont have $1,000 to blow on a new burner, so im officially at a loss...

I don't trust "clean audio folder" either. It worked for me the one time I tried it (after backing up the entire project) but I've heard too many horror stories of lost audio, so I don't use it.

To get around your 9 GB problem, "save as" the project to a different folder and select "copy all audio with project" and "create one file per clip". Sonar will copy the .cwp file and only data that's currently referenced in your project. Wasted takes won't get copied.

Then, as suggested by other posters, transfer the project file along with its audio folder. If you compress it with Winrar, you can trim the file size down to about half. I don't think a ~1 GB file is unreasonably large to transfer via FTP.
